Staff and Board Founder and Executive Director![]() Folasade Campbell is a long-time activist for social change. She has advocated for changes in the public school system, women’s rights, civil rights, and against gun violence. Ms. Campbell served for six years on the executive committee of the Staten Island Branch NAACP, as well as a member of the National Council of Negro Women. Currently, she is a member of the Fordham Law School Task Force on Families and a member of the Staten Island Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (SICCAN). She completed course work at Pace University and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Empire State College. Board of DirectorsSal BranciforteAs a native Staten Island Italian-American man, Sal Branciforte is a Staten Island activist on behalf of children and disabilities. He has written several articles on children and neglect in institutional situations. Folasade Campbell The Executive Director is also a member of the board. Ivon Fernandez Ivon Fernandez works for a major investment firm in Manhattan and is a new addition to our board. She brings with her knowledge of fundraising and to date has raised money for CCFP from our constituency and members of the general community. She is working with a consultant on fundraising for our programs. Jennifer Hom Jennifer Hom is a Hispanic mother and former client in the child welfare system who is actively involved in the child welfare advocacy movement. Michele Kiernan As a Caribbean-American woman, Michele Kiernan is a married stay at home mother and activist around issues pertaining to family rights and social justice. She is also a mother who has personally encountered and successfully advocated for her own family in the child welfare system. Gonzalo Mercado From Chile, Gonzalo Mercado is the director of El Centro Hospitalidad, an organization which serves the Mexican community on Staten Island. The organization provides advocacy around labor issues and immigrant families. In honor of Otha Spruill – (September – 2007) Otha Spruill is a retired Labor Union leader and an outstanding member of the North Shore community of Staten Island. He served on the executive committee of the Staten Island NAACP and the African-American Political Association. Deceased. |
